New IR35 legislation is due to be applied to the Public Sector
(only) in April 2017.
Key points are that for contracts in the public sector IR35
assessment, tax liability and HMRC reporting moves from contractors
to recruitment firms and clients. Therefore we need to be satisfied
that IR35 assessment, tax withholding and HMRC reporting are being
dealt with and we (and our clients) are fully compliant.

We are happy to say we have now concluded new (IR35)
arrangements with all our public sector clients. We now feel well
placed to deal with similar IR35 changes that may be applied to the
private sector in the future. We are mindful that
similar IR35 changes could be applied by HM Government to the
private sector once the implications of IR35 changes in the public
sector are known. Please talk to your regular Nationwide People
contact should you wish to know more.
